Our Saviors has implemented Rotation Sunday School in 2005, already it has made a large impact on our Sunday School program. Attendance is up 100%, the children enjoy this type of learning atmosphere over the traditional Sunday School programs. Rotation Sunday School involves a setting, the rooms are decorated to set the tone for the lessons. For example, kids watch movies in a theater, read stories in a temple. When the environment changes to accommodate the type of teaching, the kids have fun.

With Rotation Sunday School, the kids rotate every week but the theme stays the same for five weeks. A child would watch a movie on Noah's Ark, then play an interactive computer program on the subject, create arts and crafts with the theme on Noah, and so on. During the Sunday School season, there will be seven Bible stories covered.

At Our Savior's, we offer five different settings; movie theater, temple, computer lab, art room and drama club.

Sunday School year was tremendous

Our Sunday school year is about to come to a close, and as I reflect back the only thing that comes to my mind is “WOW! WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN!” We began our new rotation style Sunday school and the kids seem to love the change. We all realize that we still have some bugs to work out and I and the education committee will be working hard to put some of those changes in place. When we began rotation we didn’t have the high  attendance we do now. With 32 preschool and kindergarten children alone our classrooms are busting at the seams! What a great problem to have for our Church.

Heartfelt thanks to all who made this a TRULY TREMENDOUS YEAR, including our teachers, adult shepherds, music coordinators, and our congregation for getting to kids here to learn about God’s word.

Our new rotation Sunday School doesn’t just teach kids the Bible stories — it brings the stories to life!
